Practical 8

TalkingCock.com is a website for Singaporean to talk anything about Singapore, from polictical to businesses. Some Singaporean may find it rude to comment about political problem and making fun of it but for those for participate in it will have their own way of thinking. It is the only way they can voice out their opinion on something they disagree with the goverment as the opposition party in Singapore is not strong. Hence that is their only way to voice out. On the other hand, foreigners may think that it is ridiculous for singaporean to laugh at singapore. As Singaporean should stand hand-in-hand with the government and not making fun of it. They might be laughing at the foolish things inside TalkingCock.com. The games found is also criticising certain issues. Some people might find it fun but at the same time it is also rude. Some of the people treat this web as an entertainment web during break to keep onself refresh as the topic discussed is rather funny and entertaining.

My Dream Holiday

If i can afford to go travelling it would defintely be France. French culture and its nature attracts me to visit France. Paris will be one of my destination as its well known for fashion. All the designer goods could be found there and i would like to have a look at the latest deisgn and buy one for memory. One example will be lousi Vuitton, this famous brand had made it to the top and it is a must vist whenever a person visit France. Croix-Rousse in Lyon : Breeding Ground of Designers, all the well-known brand can be found there. It will definitely cost a bomb shopping there but its worth shopping in such an expensive district once in a lifetime. Even if just doin window shopping will be fine because young and up-coming designers exhibits their creation along the workshop. I'll also visit Lille September Braderie (flea market) as 33 hours is given to sell and buy anything with 10 000 vendors, i'm sure treasure can be found there. There will be something which could not be found singapore. Pedestrian area in Metz is one of the biggest pedestrian area in France. It will defintely be pack of people during weekend and that will be a nice experience as Singapore will never have the scene.

France is well known for its arts and culture hence it is necessary to visit all their popular arts places. The house of Craftmens-Anger is a must visit to me as craft made things are like treasure. Each design made is unique and could not be found elsewhere, it shows the creativity of the craftsmen and their hardwork. The Da Vinci Code is attracting me to take a look at its mysteries. The mystery will always be a mysteries but once visited there personally some mystery will be revealed. I will definetly visit the most famous Eiffle Tower to see the Eiffle Tower lights up in the evening.

Romance in the CITY - Amiens The Calèches de Samarobriva is a place where people tour around the city in a horse-drawn carriage to discover the main highlights of the city and its history. Travelling in a horse-drawn carriage will be a cool experience as not many places have such opportunities. Hot air balloon experience at France, La Montgolfière de Dijon isthe only way to see Dijon full view in the sky. A full view of the city for me to take wonderful pictures.

French cuisine is the best cuisine to me. Having a sip of wine to go along with the meal will be most sumptous meal i would ever had. It would be really wonderful to have a taste on wine in their wine culture. Nightlife in Amiens at marrot streets will be nice as it is liocated at city area. Take a short rest at a cafe drinking a cup of tea enjoying sceneries after shopping and touring will be relaxing. Richart chocolate is a famous choclate brands. Delicious chocolates with many new created flavour can be found there. Those who have tasted will not regret but regret if not tasted.

If it is possilbe i will visit France during Christmas as the ambience there will be great! There will be a christmas market in Metz. The delicious smell of gingerbread in the chalet will definitely make me drool. The Grenoble Christmas Fair will also be filled with adults and children as there will be activites to keep the crowd entertained. It will be a nice place to shop for christmas gifts and decorations. I will defintely buy lots of decorations to decorate my christmas trees. Christmas market in Mulhouse will be decorated with specially-created fabric decorations which is rather unique in Alsace. There wil be a full roll of event such as carol-singing, storytelling and advent concerts. All these could not be found in Singapore and it will be a speciakl expereince.

In this past 2 lessons we have to surf on internet search facilities. The 3 search facilities we had done is search engines, meta search engines and subject directories. All of them are used to find information on the internet but some are rather specified. All has its own advantages and disadvantages, nothings is perfect.

The search engine i used is google and i find it rather convenient. Everything related to the search can be found and it contains millions of pages. The search engine software find matches to the search terms and rank it in order of what the program believes to be the most relevant. It shows almost everything including video, articles and even blog. The search is very wide.

Meta search engine gets the result from many different search engines such as yahoo, google, msn and many others. It is much more focused.

Subject directories is the most effective search facilities. The search result is organized from the more general to the more specific which saves times in browsing.

If I have S$500 I would buy this DKNY watch for S$260 and would save the rest of the money.
I like to buy different variety of watches so that I can have many choices of watches to wear on different occasions to match with my clothing. As I am still a student I could not afford expensive watches so my collectibles are all much more casual so that I can wear it to school. But if I have S$500 I would definitely buy this watch as I find it elegant yet trendy.
